Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between medication management and therapy?
Medication management appointments are with our Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners with training and expertise in treating psychiatric disorders through diagnosis and prescription of psychiatric medication. Medication management is the process of overseeing the medications prescribed for a patient to ensure they are taken properly and achieving their planned, therapeutic outcome.

Therapy appointments are with our Master's level Social Workers also with training and expertise in treating psychiatric/substance abuse disorders through diagnosis and psychotherapy techniques. Therapy can improve your chances of long-term recovery and reduce the risk of relapse when or if you stop taking psychiatric medication.
