Amanda Joyce

Licensed Certified Social Worker

Amanda Joyce is a Massachusetts Board Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Elon University and a Master’s in Social Work from
Simmons University with a certificate in Mental Health Practice. While receiving her education,
Amanda worked as a care manager on a clinical stabilization unit and in a partial hospitalization program providing individual support, resource management and group therapy. 

Amanda is currently working as a Behavioral Health Complex Care Manager under Boston
Medical Center’s network of hospitals. Amanda helps to organize care for high-risk patients,
ensuring eligibility for outpatient support through MassHealth Accountable Care Organizations.


She consults on mental health concerns and provides crucial post-hospitalization follow up,
while working collaboratively with inpatient hospital teams and outpatient supports. Amanda
brings over 3 years of experience in the substance use field experiencing a variety of co-
occurring psychiatric disorders including personality disorders, anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD and grief. 


Amanda’s organized, calm, yet persistent demeanor helps her provide the best comprehensive
patient care. Amanda's approach is grounded in empathy, collaboration and evidence-based
practices and the belief that each patient is the expert in their experiences. Amanda believes in creating a safe and supportive environment, where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgement. Amanda utilizes a blend of therapeutic techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness and psychodynamic theory, believing that combining aspects of each to personalize a patient’s treatment produces the best results. Amanda’s commitment and passion to patient wellbeing is unmatched and she is excited to be a member of the Onward Psychiatry team.
