Sarah Silva
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Sarah Silva, MSN, RN, PMHNP is a board-certified Mental Health Nurse Practitioner clinically educated in treating patients with mental health diagnoses across the lifespan. Sarah earned her bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Biology at the University of Rhode Island. While there, she also worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant in home health care and as a Mental Health Technician on an inpatient psychiatric unit. She then continued her education at Boston College earning a master’s degree in Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nursing. Sarah worked as a Registered Nurse at Klarman Eating Disorders Center at McLean Hospital caring for patients with eating disorders as well as various psychiatric comorbidities.
Sarah began her advanced psychiatric nursing career as an intern for Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick, MA, working with patients with psychiatric illnesses across four inpatient units, including adolescent, adult, dual diagnosis, and geriatric. Sarah is currently working at the counseling center at Bentley University, providing psychiatric treatment for students. Prior to that, she was the Associate Medical Director of Inpatient Services at Walden Behavioral Care, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of eating disorders as well as other psychiatric disorders of patients age 12 and older.
Sarah is passionate about taking a patient-centered care approach, attributing positive outcomes to shared decision making.
